THE CONFERENCE
23
November, 2012
This event results from an initiative of the
Association of Mozambican Economists and is aimed at various
areas of Knowledge on which Economic Development is common
ground.
It lays down a gauntlet not only to Mozambique’ s civil society,
but also to academicians, managers and the Academy.
Mozambique experiences an unparallel economic growth potential
and despite the economic, financial and social crisis that
currently affects some regions of the world, sub-Saharan Africa
shows very competitive growth rates.
Mozambique is a country with millions of consumers, an expanding
middle class and an enviable abundance of natural resources.
This is the time to face choices.
A sustainable growth implies making the right choices at the
right time.
Our purpose is to foster a discussion focused on four key areas
relevant for promoting a sustained success: the
Financial System, the Energy Sector,
Industrialisation and Infrastructures and
Mozambique´s Economy and its Integration with the World.
The solutions may be rather complex and may take as long as a
generation to bear fruit but are at the core of Mozambique´s
success.
